Ready, Set, SCREAM

I was thinking today about next semester and having to find a babysitter for Ryker. I know that it is not until January but as he was screaming for no reason, I began to think how can someone else do this. It is going to be scary having someone that I hardly know watching my baby. Sometimes his screaming gets overwhelming for me and I love him with everything I am. How is a stranger going to handle it? It makes me wish I lived closer to home so that we had family and/or friends as an option. We have to start really looking for someone so that we can get to know them as much as possible. UGH!

Check-Up

We took Ryker in to see the doctor about his suspected tongue tie. The doctor said that he is tongue tied however he does not know how bad it is (apparently there are degrees). He is going to send him to the ENT doctor so that they can decide how to treat it. He said that it is not an emergency because he is able to eat and is not having any physical issues. We just want it taken care of so that hopefully it will not cause any problems with speech. Dr. Pollard also looked at the spot on Ryker's head and confirmed that it is a Mongolian Spot (which is a benign, flat, congenital birthmark with wavy borders and irregular shape). Everything else seems to be good with the little man. He now weighs 13 lbs 8 1/2 oz and 24 3/4 inches long.

North Georgia

We are on Ryker's very first mini vacation in the Blue Ridge Mountains of North Georgia. The cabin we are staying in is BEAUTIFUL! He got to meet his cousins Justin, Teresa, Wayne, Ty and Emma for the first time. The ride here was long, it took around 6 hours for a 4 hour ride but he did better than expected. He is definitely a better morning traveler. By the time we arrived we were all exhausted which could be the reason Ryker slept for 9 hours straight. He went to sleep around 9:30pm and didn't wake up until 6:30am. I almost woke him up at 4am but I decided against it. This would be an awesome pattern of sleep for him to adopt! That is all that has happened so far. I will update on the rest of the trip and the ride home.

BTW Ryker found his hair on Friday July 2nd! He plays with it when he is falling asleep. SO CUTE!
